The group is for everyone who once had or has at present roots from the area which is Belarus now;
whose Christian ancestors used to live here or live now;
who wants to know more about the country in general or about a city, town or a tiny village in particular ;
who researches his past in archives and makes his genealogical tree;
for everyone who would like to share his own family stories and information or to ask questions he has;
and also for the people who just like Belarussian culture, nature and history!
The members of the group are from different parts of the world, including Belarus of course, and they are ready to help out the newcomers in the friendly group atmoshpere.

Петрашевцы - моя малая Родина. Там прошло мое детство. (1962-1979). В те годы это была процветающая, многолюдная деревня. В семьях рождалось от 3 до 5 и больше детей. По этому показателю жители окрестных деревень называли Петрашевцы -Китаем, а проживающих там, китайцами. По вероисповеданию, по моим расчетам 55% - католики, 45% православные. (Рассчет проводился по домам проживания). На религиозной почве ни у детей, ни у взрослых никогда не возникало конфликтных ситуаций. Дети дружили, вместе играли, парни и девушки женились.
Население деревни в основном было задействовано в сельскохозяйственном секторе. Так как по своему географическому расположению Петрашевцы находятся на границе Волковысского и Мостовского райнов. На самой, на окраине района, далеко от городов. До Волковыска около 30 километров.
Молодеж в поисках лучшей жизни уезжала в города. Кто на работу, кто на учебу. Эта участь не обошла и меня. После окончания института мне пришлось уехать далеко от родительского дома. Жизнь забросила в далёкую Африку. Находясь далеко от своей Родины и приезжая домой в очередной отпуск, с печалью наблюдаю, как вымирает в прямом и переносном смысле моя Родная деревня. Пройдет несколько лет и только на географической карте останется название населенного пункта Петрашевцы. А ведь мы, бывшие жители деревни, даже не знаем её истории.
Цель написания сообщения, узнать как можно больше исторических фактов. Дату основания , первые летописные упоминания. Может у кого нибудь есть старые фотографии. Узнать о судьбе уехавших жителей. Может кто-то, как я интересуется историей своей деревни.
