Nazwa wsi Zahorniki powstała w 1864 roku od nazwiska właściciela okolicznych dóbr Zahorki (po powstaniu styczniowym). Wieś powstała na gruzach spalonej podczas kamanii napoleońskiej wsi Poniatycze. Więcj o spaleniu Poniatycz - w opisie tej wsi. W Zahornikach mój dziadek Antoni Basałygo - "Antończyk" zakupił majątek od hrabiny Marji Johanny ze Skarbek Ważyńskich Rodziewiczowej. Ten majatek znajdował się na dawnych terenach wsi Poniatycze i na mapach miał numer Poniatycz 6. W Zahornikach do czasów komasacji w 1933 roku mieszkało około 18 rodzin (posiadam ich wykaz). Po komasacji mieszkało już 31 rodzin. Dane o Zahornikach otrzymałem od rodowitego przedwojennego mieszkańca Zahornik Pana Czesława Pakulniewicza. reply

W Zahornikach znam 2 Antonijew - jeden był synem Jana (ur. około 1889r. ), drugi - synem Antonija (ur. około 1894r. ). Jaki Antoni est dziadek pana?
